The Exquisite Corpse Shall Drink the New Wine: Exercises in Collaborative Design was an inter-media project that resulted in a free newspaper distribution. Using the style of a century-old surrealist word game, I created a loose structure for myself and 7 other collaborators to work in. Within this structure, we created 52 prompts, from which we created new pieces; photographs, comics, performances, drawings, and a one night exhibit. These happenings took place over the course of a month at Purchase College, and everything was a collaborative effort. The newspapers featured all the works created, along with artist interviews about the process. Artists discussed their inspirations, difficulties, and plans for future work.
Newspaper kiosks designed specifically for the project were distributed around campus, and were left behind to be used for future publications.
